The Blackbeard Connection – Multichannel Gaming

What happens when you can interact with a film character? On MTV ? A girl in trouble with her pirate blood asking you to help, for 30 days. Together on a quest to resolve a mystery? Where 200 people on the last day race through the Netherlands to find first the treasure by Blackbeard?

This is exactly what we did in collaboration with MTV Europe and 40 independent creative professionals. The Blackbeard Connection is a successful multichannel game produced by Zgrounds. Paul was a creative producer. 

Teacher, can I have more tasks? – Research & Design

Why are kids REALLY-REALLY bored? More bored than I was? Going nuts? Needing medication to focus? Better than Sir Ken Robinson I cannot describe it;”Our Children are Living in the most intensive stimulating Period in the History of the Earth“. We need to find an answer to this challenge.  I was asked to write a small article for a pedagogical magazine going to primary school teachers and boards. It’s article for IJsselgroep, Iselinge Hogeschool in the Netherlands: “Teacher can I have more tasks? and why teachers will have precious time left again” (in Dutch page 6-7) It’s the start of my quest in understanding why children are bored in school and why change will happen.

Teacher as Avatar in 2020 – Film & Researchgroup

Paul has been commissioned to co-design an approach to underline challenges current primary school teachers experience. The first result (2011) is the complete production of a fictional shortfilm introducing 5 theme’s which need to be addressed by every teacher in order to keep the personal passion alive in helping kids reach their potential.
